In the 1920s, Frank Banta was in high demand as a studio pianist, making recordings for all of the major labels. He accompanied singers like Frank Crumit, Arthur Fields, and Aileen Stanley, and was featured in recordings by the Great White Way Orchestra, Joseph C. Smith's Orchestra, and many others. This CD contains all of his novelty piano solos recorded for Victor (including the incredibly rare "What's The Use?" and "Go Home And Tell Your Mother"), as well as the solos he recorded under the pseudonym "Jimmy Andrews" for Banner. Several bonus tracks are also included which feature Banta playing his own compositions in a dance band setting and as solos with drum accompaniment. A 12-page booklet with notes by Banta expert Alex Hassan, rare photos, and a complete discography is included. 78 minutes.
